The stone that finally stopped cracking

Spent three hours today re-leveling a headstone that had been leaning since the winter thaw. The mortar was gone, the base was shifting — I’d been meaning to fix it for months. Today, I did it right: proper mix, careful tamping, let it set overnight. Now it’s flat again, like it never leaned. Funny how something so small can feel like a win. People don’t notice these things, but I do. And sometimes, that’s enough.
