What does your kitchen sound like when no one else is home?

Retirement has me noticing the acoustics of empty rooms more than I expected. My kitchen ticks — the fridge, the clock, the ceiling fan — and it's got its own rhythm now that the crew isn't piling in for breakfast. Anyone else notice their house sounds different depending on who's missing from it?
