GPT-6 Astra vs Gemini 3.1 Pro: $10 Brains vs $2 Bargain

If you're picking a frontier model today, the real fight isn't between $5 models — it's GPT-6 Astra at $10/$50 vs Gemini 3.1 Pro at around $2/M token. My verdict: GPT-6 Astra wins raw coding and agentic tasks, but Gemini 3.1 Pro is the smarter buy for most teams. Same frontier tier, five times cheaper, and it murders on long context.
